C.H.E.K.
C.H.E.K. exercises professionals are trained to design and implement personalized exercise programmes that incorporate traditional exercise with mind-body exercise. A key component that defines a CHEK Exercise Coach is the series of assessments used to identify core dysfunctions and autonomic nervous systems imbalances. The CHEK Exercise Coach is able to accurately assess the most complex client and design a scientifically sound programme to achieve exceptional results.
At the C.H.E.K Institute, based in California, founder Paul Chek sets high standards that must be met by each and every person before they can call themselves a C.H.E.K Practitioner. The C.H.E.K (Corrective High-performance Exercise Kinesiologist) Certification programme requires a certification or degree in an approved field. In addition, before completing level IV of the intensive four-level programme, practitioners must submit a written thesis proving critical thinking and effective communication, similar to a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, to become CHEK certified.
Most importantly, C.H.E.K practitioners have passed rigorous written and practical exams prior to completing any level, showing an in-depth understanding of advanced level functional anatomy and kinesiology. C.H.E.K practitioners take a holistic approach, treating the body as a whole system of systems.
